ZARTH

I had attended an event this passed weekend but honestly, it’s nothing to write home about.Seriously. I’d like to focus more on the beautiful gown I wore by Zarth designs. A local (Durban, South Africa) designer who seems to understand my body like no other. Those who attended the Durban Fashion Fair last year would know that she (Zarth designs) got a standing ovation. Proof that her designs are elegant and simply exquisite and everybody agrees.

The dress has a see-through netting on the front but I chose to cover up for a more conservative look with a nude body shaper.

Below is how the dress looked with the body shaper and also the back of the dress. I’ll definitely be wearing one of her gowns again!

LUPITA NYONG'O

I absolutely love this woman's style and grace.  I'm sure many of you have heard of her or seen her on plenty of magazine covers all over the world!

"12 years a slave" is  on everybody's lips but nevermind her brilliant acting that got her an Academy Award for best supporting actress, her style is absolutely amazing!

She isn't afraid to make a statement with her bold colours and plunging necklines on the red carpet.  If it's one thing I appreciate about her, it's the way her beauty shines from within. I really understand the meaning of that when I look at her. Black is beautiful and Lupita Nyong'o certainly proves that statement to be true.

You can rock just about anything with confidence and the right attitude no matter what anybody says.

Monochrome Love.

Not much to be said except how much  I love the Monochrome trend. It looks good in just about any style and really brings it to life. I paired this amazingly cute dress with a pair of white tommys.
To dress it up, a pair of killer black heels, red lipstick for a pop colour if you into that and you're ready to go.

Midi Rings

I never thought in a million years that I would find these! My absolute favourite. Most people will associate these rings with Rihanna because she is definitely a fan. And she wears them well.
If you have great hands and nails, this is a fantastic way of bringing attention to them.
I'm all for trying new things. ♥

Durban Hip Hop Festival

Denim shorts- Forever 21 ; White vest- Mr.Price ; Suspenders - Mr.Price ; Sneakers - DCSHOES Africa ; Bandana -Unknown ; Gold hoops - Unknown

On Saturday (O4/01/2014) , I went to the hip hop festival in Durban which was proudly sponsored by the Arts and Living Cultures department of the Ethekwini municipality.  If you are the type of person who loves hip hop and if you really appreciate this genre, you would love what the festival has to offer. There were performances by artists like HCL , Dream Team, Skye Wanda(sp) , Drumkit and so many more! The live band was the added cherry on top.

It was held on the very famous Florida Road park so you can imagine the vibe.  It was nothing short of relaxed, fun and very entertaining.  It just adds to the list of things to do and places to go in Durban.

My outfit of choice was very cool yet sexy. I added the bandana on my wrist for that touch of hip hop. If you want to be a little more daring, you could also throw on a bright red lipstick.

Durban has loads of talent!I just think we as Durbanites should come together, support eachother and stop sleeping on our own talent. I feel very strongly about this because I myself believe in talent and gifts given to us by God. We all have the potential to be whatever it is we want to be.

May all your dreams come true this year.

Bendy Rollers

I love curling my hair sometimes but using curling irons can be a hassle! It can take so much time just so your curls can fall flat in 2hours.

I bought a pack of bendy rollers from Ruutos Hair based in Johannesburg.  About R100 for ten. They come in different sizes for different types of curls. If you are from out of town it would probably cost you another 100 for delivery but its worth it. I normally use it on weaves but this time I tried it out on my own hair.

Soon I'll upload a video to show you guys how to put them on. Its very simple and easy. You can leave them overnight and sleep comfortably. Plus, you don't have to damage your hair with the constant heat.
